How to untie the pull tab on the opening of a woven bag

When you buy bags of rice and flour, how many of you simply and crudely cut the bags open? It's quite common to accidentally drop a loose thread into the flour while doing so, isn't it?

Actually, finding the right thread is all you need to solve the problem in seconds, while keeping the bag intact.

1. Locate the single thread. Observe the sealing seams on both sides of the rice or flour bag. You'll find that one side is sewn with a single thread (the "1" side), and the other side is sewn with a double thread (the "===" side). When unsealing, the single thread is on the left-hand side because the slipknot is on that side. If all goes well, grab one thread in each hand and pull with both hands to open it. If the seal is too tight, use scissors to cut off the thread ends (the single thread on the left), pull one thread end in each hand, and pull to both sides to open the seal.

2. Find the shorter end. Observe both ends of the rice or flour bag seal and see which end is shorter. Start from the shorter end. Similar to the method in step 1, if it goes smoothly, grab one thread in each hand and pull with both hands to open it. If the seal is too tight, cut the thread ends with scissors, pull one thread end in each hand, and pull to both sides to open the seal.

Follow this rule: find the slipknot end, and then open the package smoothly.
