Method of sewing the seam opening of woven bags

Thread breakage is a common problem in woven bag sewing. Inadequate thread quality, improper machine adjustment, sharp edges on the thread guide, incorrect operation, and insufficient needle cooling can all lead to thread breakage. Thread breakage causes problems at the seams of the woven bag, affecting its usability and overall quality. So, which sewing method should be chosen to minimize this problem?

The strength of thread depends on the type of thread (cotton, polyester), its thickness (linear density), and the number of strands (twist and direction). If the stitch length is too large, the stitch strength decreases; if the stitch length is too small, it may damage the fabric, also reducing strength. The shape of the thread loop, whether it's single or double thread, the tightness of the loop, and whether it can be untied from one end are also important factors.

Sewing and splicing methods include hemming, folding, binding, and overlapping. These include hemming width, folding width, binding width and method, overlap amount and method, and the distance of the seam line to the bottom edge. When sewing, the stitches must be flat and free of defects such as slips, skipped stitches, unstitched stitches, or incomplete hemming. The stitch spacing must be even, and after sewing, a thread end of at least 50mm should be left to prevent chain stitches from coming undone.
