Analysis of the Current Status of the Woven Bag Industry

Thanks to the concerted efforts of the plastic weaving industry, the supply of waste woven bags has experienced rapid development in my country. Especially in recent years, the scale of woven bag enterprises and the quality of their products have greatly improved. The plastic weaving industry has gradually developed into an important emerging industry situated between the textile and chemical industries. With China's accession to the WTO, the connections and economic exchanges between countries around the world have become increasingly close, and the development of international logistics and trade has greatly increased the market demand for woven bag products. The following is an analysis of the current situation of my country's woven bag industry:

As the national economy continues to develop steadily, the demand for various plastic woven products has also increased simultaneously. The future demand of the domestic plastic products market will mainly focus on agricultural plastic products, packaging plastic products, construction plastic products, industrial transportation and engineering plastic products. my country's plastics industry is a whole with plastic processing as its core, including plastic synthetic resins, auxiliaries and additives, plastic processing machinery and molds. Since entering the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan", the plastics industry has gradually embarked on a leap-forward development path from a big plastics country to a powerful plastics country. During the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period, the plastics industry must promote the optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure and strive to improve the level of industrial technology. The annual growth rate of the total output of plastic products is 10%, and the annual growth rate from 2010 to 2015 should be 8%. The woven bag industry status and trend research forecast report figures show that by 2010 and 2015, the total output of plastic products should reach 35 million tons and 50 million tons respectively. According to incomplete statistics, my country's plastic woven bag production in 2007 was about 3.8531 million tons, an increase of 31.4% over 2006. The overall plastic weaving market has seen a significant rise.

Looking at the current state of the woven bag industry, although my country's plastic products industry continues to grow rapidly along with the country's stable macroeconomic growth, there is still a certain gap between the development of domestic plastic products and that of developed countries. Some aspects of production and sales are not yet fully developed. The plastic weaving industry remains a labor-intensive, low-value-added industry. Companies that simply manufacture plastic woven bags still enjoy meager profits. In contrast, companies producing high-value-added plastic products, such as BOPP color-printed film bags, vacuum metallized film bags, composite bags, coated bags, and container bags, reap substantial profits. Therefore, accelerating the development of the plastic products industry is an urgent requirement for my country's economic and social development.

The development of advanced woven bag equipment worldwide has shown a trend of integrating mechanics, electricity, pneumatics, hydraulics, optics, magnetism, and biology. Increased production efficiency, energy-saving and recyclable products, practical application of high technology, and intelligent manufacturing are becoming trends, and this should also be the mainstream development direction for my country's woven bag equipment. In terms of product structure adjustment, we must quickly change the situation of focusing primarily on low-tech products, learn from advanced foreign technologies, develop and produce large-scale complete sets of low-consumption, market-suitable high-tech products, develop packaging equipment suitable for national conditions, accelerate the upgrading of packaging machinery, and further expand domestic and international markets.

The Current Status and Development Direction of Woven Bag Equipment, Plastic Woven Bags, and Woven Bag Machinery: In the late 1970s, my country introduced plastic woven bags, followed by weaving equipment. Woven packaging, with its advantages of durability, low cost, and simple manufacturing process, was rapidly adopted in many fields, especially for large-capacity transport packaging. The use of plastic woven bags for cement packaging began in 1982. Hundreds of woven bag production lines were imported from different countries, including a dozen or so relatively complete and advanced sets of equipment. From the mid-1980s, Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces in my country successively developed domestically produced equipment and launched it on the market in large quantities, making a significant contribution to the development of my country's woven bag equipment and plastic woven packaging industry.

In the 1990s, plastic woven packaging developed rapidly. By 1995, the number of plastic woven bags used for cement packaging reached 5.6 billion, accounting for two-thirds of the total cement packaging that year. The implementation of the "Cement Packaging Bag" standard has given another boost to the development of plastic woven bag manufacturing companies and plastic woven bag equipment manufacturing industries. Plastic woven factories and plastic woven equipment manufacturers of various grades have sprung up like mushrooms after a rain. However, judging from the overall industrial structure and scale of the plastic weaving industry, there is a phenomenon of being scattered and small. Most companies have only one production line. Due to the small scale of the enterprise and insufficient production capacity, it is difficult to integrate with international standards, form a series of knitted products, and achieve technological innovation. In recent years, many entrepreneurs have seen this and formed plastic weaving groups. In some areas, loose cooperative organizations such as plastic weaving cities have emerged. After years of survival of the fittest, some enterprises with certain advantages, sound management and effective innovation have been able to gain a foothold and achieve development, while many weak enterprises have also withdrawn from the industry.
