Experts predict that in the next few years, the following types of packaging machinery should improve their technological content and accelerate their research and development.

Firstly, there are bag-making, filling, and sealing packaging machinery. Currently, there are more than 100 domestic manufacturers of this type of machinery, with an annual output of 1,500 to 2,000 units. The main models are single-row and three-side sealing bags. The development trend of bag-making, filling, and sealing packaging machinery will move towards modular structures, multi-row, high speed, high stability, and automatic control.

Secondly, corrugated cardboard (box) production equipment. Over the past decade, China's corrugated cardboard machinery industry has developed rapidly, with product types expanding from corrugated cardboard production lines to multiple series including printing and slotting machines, cardboard gluing machines, and corner cutting machines. In the future, corrugated cardboard machinery will develop towards complete sets of equipment.

The third is metal packaging container processing equipment. The production and manufacturing industry of metal packaging container processing machinery in my country has begun to take shape. The development trend of such products is to improve product performance, increase yield and material utilization; second, to accelerate product technology updates, develop mercury-free welding and high-performance high-frequency welding power sources.

Fourthly, pulp molding processing equipment. The current production scale of paper tableware processing equipment in my country is still relatively small, and the price of the equipment is relatively high. In the future, research efforts should be intensified in areas such as reducing the cost of molding and heating molds, improving heating methods, reducing electricity costs, and increasing output in pulp molding tableware processing machinery.

Fifth, vacuum packaging machinery. Currently, there are only a few companies in China that primarily produce vacuum packaging machines; many focus on assembly. The main types are semi-automatic, with fewer fully automatic continuous models, large vacuum chamber machines, and machines suitable for liquid packaging. At present, there is a general lack of dedicated vacuum packaging machines in China.
